Luke Bryan is still talking about his criticized performance of the National Anthem at last week’s Major League Baseball All-Star game. Luke was called unpatriotic, among other things, for having written some of the words to the song on his hand. Luke appeared on Good Morning America to address the controversy, telling host Robin Roberts…that the song can bring fear to even the best professional singers…
Luke Bryan: "Every artist I talked to in Nashville, they're like, 'Oh, anthem, anthem.' And you get to where you're almost scared that you don't want to do it. But I feel like, I can't go serve my country, so, I kind of feel like that's the only way I serve my country is to get out and do the anthem."
In the end, Luke performed a perfect Star Spangled Banner…but you should know that Luke’s not the only recording artist to ‘cheat’ when singing the national anthem…and some have suffered some nightmare performances.
