Blake Shelton has chosen his wife and Kelly Clarkson to be mentors for his team on the upcoming season of NBC's hit TV show The Voice. Blake says both Miranda and Kelly have something in common that he feels will be helpful to his singers…
Blake Shelton: I chose Miranda and Kelly Clarkson because they've both survived reality television shows. A lot of people don't realize, Miranda was on a show called Nashville Star, placed third, and managed to come out of that and get a record deal and build on her fan base that she got through that show. And of course we all know what Kelly did. I just wanted somebody who can talk to them about what they're going through a little bit, maybe being on television for the first time and how to handle that and how to approach it, that's how I picked my advisers. And also they're both really hot.
The new season of The Voice kicks off right after the Super Bowl on February 5th.
