Blake Shelton's #1 Party for "Who Are You When I'm Not Looking"...Blake talks about Biting Toenails?

Blake Shelton had his #1 party yesterday for his hit song “Who Are You When I’m Not Lookin”…and I caught up with Blake before the party. Something’s been driving me crazy ever since the first time I heard that song. There’s a line in the song, that I just don’t understand. There's a line in the song that says, “Do you paint your toes, cause you bite your nails”…it sounds to me like he’s saying the girl in the song is biting her toenails!!! EWWW!

So yesterday, I asked Blake about that line. Now I know Blake didn’t write this song…BUT he sings it, so surely he can tell me what it means…here’s Blake’s explanation:
Blake: I kinda thought that would clear itself up after a while, and I shoulda known better. Hah! When I first heard the song, I didn’t even think of it that way. I immediately thought, “ok, she doesn’t paint her fingernails because she bites ‘em. So she paints her toenails instead.” But then, like, speaking to my mom, my mom may have been the first one to go,”Well, that’s gross.” Well, I said “What?” She goes, “Whe paints her toenails and then she bites ‘em?” And I’m like, what the hell are you..” Then I stepped back and went “Oh my God” yeah I guess I see it that way too! And then I kinda stopped thinkin’ about it and I’ll be damned if not two nights ago there was a, uh, TJ Martell dinner. And I was standing next to Kellie Pickler, as we were doin’ you know, interviews side by side. And the guy ends up sayin, “Hey let me grab you and Kellie together talkin’ a minute. And then he mentioned this number one party. And I turned to Kellie Pickler and I said, “Kellie, I’d like to know…do you paint your toes ‘cause you bite your nails?” and she said almost the same thing that my Mom said, which was, “Man, I wanted to ask you about that. That is GROSS!” and so it was like, It’s not gone…people still think a girl is sitting around sucking her toes like those old Monchichi dolls they used to sell. It’s like, I don’t know. I’m glad that the confusion didn’t hold the song back.”

Well, I was glad to know I wasn’t the only one who thought that way!! And Blake’s right the song wasn’t held back…obviously, I mean it went to #1! Here's the song: (Oh!...and by the way...Blake told us that he fought with the director of his music video...over him being barefoot! He REFUSED to be barefoot on the bed...and after a while of going back and forth...Blake obviously won. He wore boots....but the director didn't show his feet!)

Well, Blake’s party yesterday was a lot of fun…because HE is so fun! We all had a great time. He did talk about his wedding a bit…it was really sweet…Blake said, "I am so excited about being married to Miranda Lambert…but I don’t care a thing about a wedding".

The Lady is in Love

Word is, Lady Antebellum's Hillary Scott is in a serious relationship with Chris Tyrell, the drummer for the band Love and Theft. Many are thinking this is ‘the one’ for Hillary…so could it lead to wedding bells in the future?? Her band mate Charles Kelley didn’t spill the beans on a wedding, but he did say that Hillary’s feeling all the right emotions. Charles says,
"Hillary is definitely in love, and it's a great thing to see, man. She's got...you can just tell she's got butterflies in her stomach right now...and we'll see what happens with everything, but Dave and I approve. Her big brothers approve and that's a good thing."

Well at least the guys approve, Hillary! So that
is a good thing. Lady A is in town this week and are all set to sing tomorrow night for the Lady is a Diva show…the benefit concert for Nashville’s Oasis Center. That event will take place under the stars on a farm in Franklin. And the original Diva will be there too…Wynonna Judd, who helped create the Divas Nashvegas event for the Oasis center some seven years or so ago.

The Opry Remembers the Nashville Flood with Star-Packed Show Tuesday Night

The Grand Ole Opry will mark the one year anniversary of the Nashville flood with a show on Tuesday night called "Play On, Nashville!" They have a Super Star line-up, too…DIERKS BENTLEY, LUKE BRYAN, TRACE ADKINS, the CHARLIE DANIELS BAND and now…BRAD PAISLEY signed on to remember the events of last year’s flood….and to celebrate the spirit and resilience of Music City.

Dierks says he wanted to be a part of Tuesday night’s show because,
"The city of Nashville, the Opry and the country music community were so resilient and came together to rebuild so quickly after the devastation." The Opry is asking folks who were effected by the flood…whether you were personally affected or volunteered to help others who were affected…the Opry wants you to send in pictures from the flood relief efforts to oprymail@opry.com by Tomorrow. The Opry will include them in a slide show on the Opry's barn backdrop during the show.

You know, even though the Opry was devastated by last year’s flood, they never skipped a beat or missed a show. Country music artists came together, and the Opry used other venues around town so the show could go on. If you haven’t done it yet, take a backstage tour of the Opry. They have a marker in one of the seating areas that marks the flood line. It’s unbelievable to see how high the waters rose that day.

Reba Talks Love...

Reba McEntire opened up about her favorite topic…LOVE. Reba believes love is so powerful, it can change people….or she says, it can make people “go stupid.” But that’s what Reba says she likes the most. Being totally irrational is “super” according to Reba...Here she is trying to explain the emotion, "You just become this little silly person that's just...throwing flowers in the air. It's just overwhelming. Love is the strongest sense and feeling that you can probably ever have. I just love being in love. I think it's super.”

But
why is Reba talking about all this love stuff, anyway??? Well, Reba sings all about it in her latest single, called, "When Love Gets a Hold of You."

LeAnn Rimes Secret Wedding!

It was a big weekend for LeAnn Rimes. Her GAC special, "Backstory - LeAnn Rimes" aired last night...and LeAnn blamed her parents' separation in 1997 for her extramarital affair with actor Eddie Cibrian. LeAnn opened up about the affair that ended her marriage...it also ended Eddie’s marriage…and LeAnn admitted it wasn’t right. LeAnn said she handled things poorly and that her difficult relationship with her parents played a large part in her behavior. LeAnn said she felt "really abandoned" when her parents split up when she was younger. Even though her divorce was difficult, LeAnn believes she now has "strength." She said, "I'm not glad it happened, but I know why it did."

LeAnn and Eddie got engaged in December…and Friday night, the two were married in a private ceremony in Malibu, California. Apparently, LeAnn and Eddie invited guests over for what they thought was to be an engagement party, but turned out, it was really a wedding ceremony! A spokesman for the couple told People magazine that they were “surrounded by their closest family and friends.”

Word is, the newlyweds are holding off on the honeymoon for a few weeks because of work commitments.

FREE Tickets to See Lady Antebellum in Nashville!!!

Next week, Lady Antebellum will perform a private concert right here in Nashville! Lady A is the headlining act for the annual Divas Nashvegas benefit. The event raises money and awareness for the Oasis Center, Nashville’s only residential and counseling program for homeless, at-risk and underprivileged teens.

"Always Pasty Cline” singer Mandy Barnett will open up for Lady A, and I’ve been told there will also be a special appearance by a legendary 'Diva.'… Wynonna Judd! Wy was actually the very first Diva, who helped create the event years ago.

Vince Gill out-sings Carrie Underwood?

Carrie Underwood is one of the ladies being honored on the "ACM Presents: Girls' Night Out" special that airs tomorrow night. On the show, Vince Gill will sing Carrie's number one hit "Jesus, Take the Wheel." Well, during the show taping in Las Vegas, Carrie admitted that she was blown away Vince’s performance of the song. In fact, Carrie said,
"It's like he should have been singing it all along…That's not the point of this tonight, to make me look bad because you're so awesome."

Carrie and Vince will sing together on the show; they will sing a duet of another song about Jesus, "How Great Thou Art." Carrie says she’s been a HUGE fan of Vince Gill her whole life…and said when she was young, she even kept a trapper keeper with her list of important things to remember and her number one song? Carrie said,
"My number one song was one of Vince's. Yea, it's so surreal. He's an Okie boy and the nicest guy ever."

Carrie and Vince also sang at last night’s Preds game…Carrie sang "Cowboy Casanova" while Vince helped her out on guitar. Both wore Predators jerseys in support of their hometown team...and Carrie's hubby, Mike Fisher.

Jo Dee Messina also performed between periods. The Preds lost the game, but it was a hot night for celeb sightings...fans also spotted John Rich and Britney Spears’ sister Jamie Lynn Spears in the crowd.

You can see Carrie and Vince perform tomorrow night when "ACM Presents: Girls' Night Out" airs at 8:00 p.m. on CBS.

Is Dierks Bentley the Next Celebrity Apprentice??

Apparently, Dierks Bentley is a HUGE fan of Celebrity Apprentice…according to John Rich, Dierks blows up his phone with text messages after every episode! So it got John to thinking…maybe Dierks could be the next Celebrity Apprentice??

John Rich: I think a guy like Dierks would be good because he’s very even tempered, he’s a smart guy, he’s just the kind of guy after bein’ through the show, I think his kind of attitude and smarts could go a long way in that show.

Celebrity Apprentice is all about raising money for charity; and John says Dierks is a charitable guy, which would make him a good fit for the competition. After all, Dierks has raised more than $1.5 million dollars for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals through his Miles and Music Event.

And it seems like tradition now for the current Country Star on Celebrity Apprentice to select the next Country star for the show. It was Trace Adkins who told Donald Trump that John Rich should be a contestant on the show. Now, John seems to be passing the torch on to Dierks Bentley.

Even though there’s no official word that Dierks has signed on to the show…it seems like a strong suggestion, maybe even a "hint"…but we’ll have to wait a while and see…

In the meantime, check out John Rich's weekly video blog and get a behind-the-scenes look at this season's Celebrity Apprentice!!

Trace Adkins Testifies Before Congress

Trace Adkins grew up hearing stories about his great-great-grandfather, Henry T. Morgan, who fought in the Civil War. Those family stories sparked his life-long passion for history…and his desire to preserve our past.

Last week, Trace went to Capitol Hill to testify before Congress about the importance of protecting Civil War battlefields. The 150th anniversary of the Civil War is coming up, which Trace says is "the opportune time to redouble efforts to forever protect these hallowed grounds." Trace explained that maintaining these landmarks is important...not only to honor and remember the past, but as a reminder of what can happen when "political wisdom fails and our differences are allowed to escalate beyond reason." Trace appeared before Congress along with the President of the Civil War Trust…in an effort to urge Congress to continue funding the Civil War Battlefield Preservation Program.

The Civil War Trust is the largest nonprofit battlefield preservation organization in the United States. To date, the Trust has preserved more than 30,000 acres of battlefield land in 20 states. Learn more at www.civilwar.org.

EXCLUSIVE! Jason Aldean Talks about Singing with Kelly Clarkson!

Tomorrow night, Jason Aldean will do something he’s never done before…Jason will make his debut on American Idol!!! Jason will join Kelly Clarkson on stage to sing their number one hit, “Don’t You Wanna Stay”…Kelly, of course, is the very first winner of American Idol…who went on to have a successful career in POP music. So I asked Jason how his duet with Kelly came to be…

Jason Aldean: Kelly’s always been one of my favorite singers. I think she’s incredible. I called her up and said, "we’ve got this song, want you to hear it...and if you wanna sing on the record, we’d love to have you." And she ended up comin’ in and as soon as she started singing…it turned out amazing. It’s one of the highlights of the album”

Yes, I’d say a number one hit song is a highlight for sure! It will be interesting to see them sing it live on American Idol. Up till now, Kelly’s been performing for Jason’s Country audience…this is her crowd. Yes, there are Country Music fans, too, but this is different….it’s different for Jason, for sure. I can’t wait to hear the crowd’s reaction to the two of them together.

Although I do wish that Simon was still there to see Kelly and Jason knock it out of the park!

Is The Judd's TV Show STAGED??!

Naomi Judd slipped up at a press conference and told reporters that The Judds' TV reality series is actually STAGED!!! The country duo's six-part series was shot during The Judds' tour last fall. It's supposed to follow Wynonna and Naomi and document their mother-daughter relationship…giving us an inside-look both their personal lives AND their professional singing careers. The preview of the show promises that Judd's family secrets will be revealed on the show…

Well, Naomi admitted at this press conference that at least some scenes are staged, and a couple of the "setups" didn't turn out well, but they're in the series anyway. Naomi explained why they included the phony scenes, saying, she and Wynonna are both
“recovering people pleasers”, and she said, “we went along with it and they had horrible outcomes...yet they wound up on camera because we don't get creative control."
A publicist for the network supposedly stopped Naomi from saying anything further…and according to the New York Post, Wynonna slammed her hand down on the table demanding that the show NOT be called a "REALITY" show. Wynonna said,
“"Reality TV is often scripted by a guy who steps in and says 'Lets do this, let's put more emphasis on this' because they want to sensationalize," she said.

And according to Wynonna, their show did not go down that way…she said,
"They are following us around, they get what they get and then they edit it."

Also, in Judd's news...Naomi Judd opened up about her own experience with sexual abuse. In the wake of her daughter, Ashley Judd's revealing memoir, in which Ashley tells how she was sexually abused as a child, Naomi reveals her first memory was when a man was trying to sexually abuse her when she was 3 1/2 years old.

The Skinny on LeAnn Rimes

LeAnn Rimes is denying rumors that she is struggling with an eating disorder. LeAnn has always been slim or slender...however...it seems that everyone started talking (again) about LeAnn’s weight after she performed the National Anthem at the Men's NCAA championship game last week. Photos from the event show LeAnn looking extremely thin in a form-fitting white D&G mini dress. Afterwards, the web was abuzz with speculations, accusing LeAnn of working out way too much, and some even saying LeAnn must not be eating enough (implying that LeAnn has an eating disorder).

LeAnn responded to the rumors via Twitter, saying quote,"To those who have to turn to other's lives and judge with no real knowledge of how anyone lives, you can you know what!" Then LeAnn tweeted, "dear lord! I do not workout too much nor do I starve myself. I'm so over this and moving on."

Well, she continued to tweet all week…saying she’s completely healthy, takes good care of herself, works out three to four times a week, and follows a healthy diet -- but still "treats" herself. Then LeAnn tweeted about food… saying that she shared a pizza with fiance Eddie Cibrian and his sons, made cinnamon rolls, and loves Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies.

But no matter how many times she tweets…LeAnn hasn’t convinced the skeptics. AccessHollywood.com even started an ongoing poll about it…and according to the poll, nearly 80-percent of who participated think LeAnn is too skinny.

EXCLUSIVE! Vince Gill talks to Ashley Mann at the Jammin' to Beat the Blues Benefit at the Ryman

Vince Gill and friends performed for the Jammin’ to Beat the Blues benefit concert last night at the Ryman…and I was there. My radio co-host, Rick Marino, MC’d the event with Dawn Wells, the lovely actress who played Mary Ann on Gilligan’s island.

Vince Gill likes to keep his list of friends a secret until the night of the show. You never know who’s gonna show up on stage! Even when I spoke to Vince right before the show, he wouldn’t tell me!

Ashley Mann:  Who are your friends that you’re gonna have with you tonight?
Vince Gill:  Aw…I can’t tell ya, I’d have to kill ya!
Ashley Mann:  No, this is for tomorrow!
Vince Gill:  (laughs) No, it’s always a surprise for 2 reasons…one, I’m a very bad planner, so it’s very last minute. I’m callin’ people today and yesterday and sayin’ hey you doin’ anything? Come down and sing a couple songs!

Well, a ton of his friends showed up. Of course his wife, Amy Grant was there…and Taylor Hicks who won American Idol a few seasons back...Larry Stewart, the lead singer from Restless Heart, Keb Mo, and Del McCoury...just to name a few.  It really was a laid-back night. We were basically watching Vince hang out and jam with his buddies…vince was so relaxed, he rehearsed for hours with no shoes on!! I had to ask him about that…

Ashley Mann:  Do you always rehearse barefoot?
Vince Gill:  Yeah..i don’t like shoes that much! (laughs) It felt good today to be barefoot. Spring is in the air, and I got new shoes...and I don’t want to stink ‘em up too bad too quick! (laughs)
Ashley Mann:  I saw a pair of your shoes at the Country Music Hall of Fame the other day that you wore forever and ever and ever!
Vince Gill:  Yeah, it seems like I always wore those at all the awards shows for years and years and years…and I felt like they were my lucky shoes.

It was a fun night that raised awareness and money for the Mental Health Association of Middle Tennessee, a local non-profit that promotes mental health through advocacy, education and service. And they always put on a great show. The first time I went to a Jammin to Beat the Blues benefit, Taylor Swift performed as a brand-new artist.  It’s a great event for a great cause!

While Vince and Amy were singing on stage, I caught up with Taylor Hicks backstage in the wings. Keb Mo brought Taylor along to sing with Vince.  Taylor had only met Vince once before in passing, so it was cool to see them meet.  Taylor told me that Country Music is in his blood...and that he's moving to Nashville in June of this year to collaborate and work on a new ablum project. That should be interesting!

Wynonna and Naomi Judd Sound Off about Ashley Judd's Memoir

Wynonna and Naomi Judd are sounding off about Ashley Judds's new memoir, All That Is Bitter and Sweet, that hits stores this week. Wynonna told Entertainment tonight that "The veil has been lifted. Secrets keep you sick and families will heal once you get real." In her book, Ashley Judd reveals deep, dark Judds family secrets. Ashley says that she was molested as a child…by someone the family new very well…even calling it “incest”. She also criticizes her mother, country music legend, Naomi Judd. In an excerpt from the book Ashley writes,"I loved my mother. But at the same time I dreaded the mayhem and uncertainty that followed her everywhere...I often felt like an outsider observing my mom's life as she followed her own dreams." In a television interview on the TODAY show, Ashley said she tells her side of the story. Watch Ashley's TODAY SHOW interview here: Ashley Judd's Memoir

Naomi wasn’t angry with Ashley for writing the book. In fact, Naomi handled the book’s accusations with grace saying, "I think it's key for us to spend time figuring our own reality. Every unhappiness is tied to a story, and we have to go back and figure out our stories.” Ashley commented on her mom’s reaction to her book in her TV interview saying, “I’m really grateful for my mother’s exquisitely gracious attitude towards my right to share my narrative.

And Wynonna commented on Ashley’s book too, saying that she is proud of her sister. The new docu-series about Wy and Naomi, The Judds, premieres on OWN this Sunday night. And they supposedly air even more of the family’s secrets. Watch the preview of The Judds show here:

Miranda Lambert's Dog, Delilah Lambert, is Missing!

With Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's wedding just a month away…Blake's all set to be husband to Miranda and Daddy to Miranda's dog, Delilah...but now…Delilah Lambert is missing!

A few weeks ago, Delilah Lambert leaked details on Twitter about her future Daddy’s upcoming ACM performance. Delilah said Blake would be singing a new song for us called, Honey Bee. And that’s exactly what Blake did. Delilah even posted Blake’s new photo for the single’s cover…way before it was ever officially released. Delilah was giving out the scoop when Blake and Miranda wouldn’t, so fans and Country music reporters, like me, were keeping our eyes and ears on new tweets from Delilah.

Well, now…Delilah Lambert has disappeared...from Twitter. It happened shortly after the ACM’s…Delilah’s twitter address no longer exists (@Delilah_Lambert)…without any explanation.

But one thing is for sure…Blake should start a massive search for Delilah. Because after he performed his song, "Honey Bee" at the ACM Awards Sunday night, come Monday morning, the song was in the top ten on the iTunes overall song chart…AND it was the number-one country song on iTunes!!!

Delilah Lambert may be a man’s best promoter!! Check out Blake Shelton's new tune, "Honey Bee" here: Blake Shelton's "Honey Bee"

EXCLUSIVE!!! Troy Gentry Opens Up about Eddie Montgomery's Cancer Battle

If you watched the ACM Awards on Sunday, you probably spotted all of your favorite stars in the audience, including Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry.  Montgomery Gentry was up for Top Vocal Duo of the year, but didn’t take home the award this time.  The duo has won a bigger battle this year…Eddie Montgomery won the battle against cancer.

Eddie announced he was diagnosed with prostate cancer at the end of last year, and had surgery to remove the tumor in December at a hospital in Kentucky.  Eddie assured Troy that he’d only be “down” for a couple of weeks…and refused to cancel their scheduled tour in January.  Well, Eddie kept his promise…Montgomery Gentry performed for the troops stationed in Korea and Okinawa, Japan in at the beginning of the year.

I caught up with Troy to check in on how Eddie’s been doing since his surgery…

Troy Gentry: He’s bounced back really well, and I missed him over the winter and everything else...but we’ve been able to get back out on the road and spend some time together and catch up...and we’ve had a lot of fun here and the last several shows we’ve done and in the studio again cutting a new album and everything…we’ve been having a really good time hanging out together again, so I’m glad to see he’s back to health and look forward to spending the summer with him.

Eddie and Troy have a big summer of touring ahead of them…it was good to see them together at the ACM’s…Eddie looked GREAT!  The two also performed at the ACM/NRA Country Celebrity Shoot (hosted by Blake Shelton the day before the ACM Awards). Troy was the top (individual) shooter at the event, and Eddie joined him on-stage for a couple of tunes. Here's a video clip of artist interviews from the event, including Montgomery Gentry:

And TODAY is Troy’s Birthday…he turns 44 today! Happy Birthday Troy!!

EXCLUSIVE!!! Dolly Parton Sings with Don Henley

Word is, Dolly Parton is lending her voice on Don Henley’s upcoming Country Album...and the two Music Icons sing together in a Nashville recording studio TODAY.

Don’s collaborating with Country Music’s Best (both Artists AND musicians), and he’s recording it all right here, in Nashville. At first it was thought that Don Henley’s new album will showcase all Country cover tunes, but now we know there’s more to it than that.

Ronnie Dunn told me that he recorded "Seven Bridges Road" with Don and Alison Krauss…LIVE and acapella. Ronnie also told me that Don has recorded some Country Covers, as well as some Eagles’ tunes…PLUS there will be some BRAND NEW songs on the album, too. And Now, Don Henley is pairing up with Country Music Icon, Dolly Parton!! Wonder what song they will sing together??

Exciting stuff!

Shania Twain's Stalker is Arrested!

Shania Twain’s alleged stalker was arrested this week. Just 2 weeks ago, Giovanni Palumbo was set free, after Shania was a no-show in court. Palumbo had apparently sent letters and flowers to the Shania’s home…and had even been found lingering around her vacation home. Shania filed charges and cooperated with police about the case…but refused to show up for the court date…which angered the judge.

Well, on Sunday, Shania was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during the Juno Awards…but, the evening was interrupted by Shania’s alleged stalker. Apparently, just before Shania took the stage to receive her award, Giovanni Palumbo showed up to the venue (Air Canada Centre). He was arrested shortly after entering the building. It's being reported that when he was arrested, he was wearing a Shania Twain t-shirt and carrying a book about the country star.

According to the Toronto Star, Palumbo, a cardiovascular surgeon in Ottawa Canada, was under a restraining order, which ordered him to stay at least 500 yards away from Shania. So now he faces new charges of breaching that court order...an article in The Toronto Star states that his bail hearing is today.

The good news is…Shania told reporters at the Juno Awards that she’s in the studio working on new music…and she says, she’s very excited!
