Jake Owen celebrated his very first #1 hit, "Barefoot Blue Jean Night," with a party in Nashville this week. At the party, Jake said that he received a surprise congratulatory phone call from a Country Star….
Rodney Atkins called Jake out of the blue, just to show his support…
Jake Owen: "'Man, the minute I heard that 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night,'" he's like, "I just knew that that was going to be your big song." He said, "I just want you to know that I'm pulling for you, and I just wanted you to know that you need to keep on keeping on doing your thing 'cause he said, "You're great, and I've seen you play before." We've played some shows before, but that was it. He was like, "But that's it, man. That's kind of all I wanted to tell you." I was like, "Wow." I just thought that was such a cool thing to do.
Well Jake said he normally doesn’t answer calls from numbers that he doesn’t recognize…but he did that day…and he was glad he did.
