Darius Rucker is stepping up to the plate to help slim down the South. Darius has signed on as a team captain for the Slim Down the South Celebrity Softball Challenge in Charleston, SC...that takes place on October 1st....
The softball game between the celeb teams will raise awareness and funds for Louie’s Kids and Run Buddies, two nonprofit organizations that fight childhood obesity. 
Hollywood actor and Charleston resident, Bill Murray, will captain the other team. Bill Murry co-owns the city of Charleston’s minor league baseball club. Other celebs joining the game are 2 of Darius’ band members from Hootie and the Blowfish, along with former contestants from the show The Biggest Loser. To help raise money, they’re offering opportunities to play ball with the celebs!! They still have some slots left for that, too. For more information, go to the Slim Down The South website.
