What would you do to see a FREE Brad Paisley concert?? Would you stand in line for hours....in the RAIN?? Well, that's exactly what folks did on Monday night outside of the venue, Nashville Center Stage.
Brad Paisley held a secret concert on Monday night; it was part of the Walmart Soundcheck series. But only Brad’s most loyal followers knew about the show, finding out about it via text. The ones who were quick on the draw were able to RSVP in time. They only allowed for a small number of RSVP's. But, securing the RSVP only allowed you to stand in line outside the venue. I was told that even an RSVP didn’t guarantee you’d get inside. So an even smaller number of folks would be able to see the show. Finally, after standing for 20 minutes in the pouring rain, a very small group of folks were allowed inside!! The lucky ones were the ones with umbrellas!!
I spoke to one of the lucky ones who got inside and here's what happened at the show:
It was a full-blown Brad Paisley concert!! He had his full band and stage lighting...the works! He sang hit after hit…and the smaller venue made the concert more intimate. Brad tested out a new song from his upcoming album...a funny song called “Love Starts with a Toothbrush." The crowd seemed to LOVE it! The song is definitely in line with Brad's humor. And throughout the show, Brad was cracking jokes about Walmart, too. He played the guitar with a beer bottle a couple of times…and he ended with the song, “Alcohol." Everyone in the room sang it with him.
I'm told that Brad was in rare form on Monday night. At one point, a guy in the audience yelled, “I love you Brad! Brad response made everyone laugh, "umm...I love you too? ..you should probably just say that you like me." Then a girl screamed out, "I LOVE YOU BRAD!" Brad replied, "See, that's more like it. Love you too, miss!"
